CIRM scientists log 300th research paper
Just three years after CIRM awarded the first round of stem cell research grants, that funding has resulted in the 300th paper logged by CIRM grantees. The paper, published in the Journal of Neuroimmunology by UC Irvine scientists, found that embryonic stem cells could repair nerve damage in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis. (Read a summary of the paper on CIRM’s research blog.)
Of papers published to-date, 222 have been funded by Training grants, 64 were funded by SEED grants, 45 were funded by Comprehensive grants, and 15 were funded by New Faculty grants. These total more than 300 because some papers were funded by more than one grant, such as this 300th paper which has authors funded by both a Training and a SEED grant.
