To contribute to a network that will de-risk pathways to commercialization for cell and gene therapies and develop a diverse and skilled manufacturing workforce in California, we propose to develop and implement several key activities to meet these goals over the two years of this project proposal. This project will have a significant public impact by increasing access to cutting-edge medical treatments for Californians, and by driving economic growth by fostering innovation in the state’s biotechnology industry. Consistent with our strong track record of valuing diversity, equity and inclusion as a key focus of the campus, we have sought to integrate IFNR5 program goals with opportunities to enhance the delivery of CGTs to medically underserved populations and develop a diverse workforce.
