We have established that diaphragm cells show all the genetic characteristics needed to be responsive to our proposed therapeutic, However, in the course of our experiments, we realized that the rodent model we planned to test our drug in would not be sufficient. Instead, we have initiated multi-omics studies to better understand the molecular biology of the diaphragm and how it is impacted by mechanical ventilation, which will provide necessary data to develop more VIDD therapeutics.
