Piezo1 regulates meningeal lymphatic vessel drainage and alleviates excessive CSF accumulation.

This study examines the role of the gene Piezo1 in cerebralspinal fluid (CSF) accumulation. Specifically the authors found that over-expression of this gene could slow the influx of CSF to the brain, a problem seen in hydrocephalus and Downs syndrom. This gene may be an important target for regulating CSF flow into the brain.
