Statement by Robert Klein, Chair of the Independent Citizen’s Oversight Committee Regarding Appointment of Type II Diabetes Patient Advocate
Emeryville, CA – “I would like to thank Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante for conducting an extensive search and appointing the Type II Diabetes Patient Advocate to the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee.
We are very excited for the opportunity to work with Marcy Feit, who has spent her entire 32-year career devoted to serving patients. As the CEO of the leading non-profit hospital in the Tri Valley area, Marcy Feit brings special insight into clinical programs and needs, specifically including a gestational diabetes program she took the leadership in establishing to reach that broad group of women who develop diabetes during critical periods of their pregnancies.
With Ms. Feit’s appointment, I am very pleased to report that this important position in patient advocacy is once again filled with an outstanding spokesperson with unique experience that will help the ICOC work together to move stem cell science forward in California.”
