CIRM Signs Collaborative Agreements with France and India
In March, CIRM signed collaborative agreements on stem cell research with the French Governmentâs Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) and the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inSTEM), an autonomous unit of the Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India. These agreements will make it easier for researchers in California to obtain joint funding with France and Indian to broaden the potential pool of expertise that can be applied toward research in a specific area. CIRM has now developed a total of 12 International Collaborative Funding Partner agreements.

New CIRM Spotlight Video

CIRM to Provide Travel Scholarships for 2011 ISSCR Meeting
CIRM announced a travel scholarship program to support patient advocates and young scientists who are attending the 9th annual meeting of the International Society for Stem Cell Research in Toronto, Canada.
CIRM Extends Funding of Shared Labs
At its March 10th meeting, the CIRM Governing Board voted to provide $22 million in additional funding over three years for the seventeen CIRM Shared Laboratories. This extension enables the grantee institutions to continue their very successfully programs which provide training and dedicated lab space for stem cell research.
