Building Bridges to Regenerative Medicine: Certificate Training, Mentoring, and Internship Pathways for a Diverse Translational Workforce
Public Abstract:
This proposed training program will prepare graduate-level trainees for careers across the regenerative medicine ecosystem by combining interdisciplinary coursework, hands-on laboratory training, professional development, public communication, mentoring, and internship-based experiential learning. Trainees will build foundational knowledge in stem cell science, bioprocessing, therapeutic development and regulation, data science, and research ethics, while also gaining practical experience in laboratory methods, scientific communication, and community engagement.
The program will contribute to workforce development by preparing participants for roles not only in research, but also in manufacturing, quality systems, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, translational development, and patient-centered innovation. Through integrated academic and applied training, the program is designed to help develop a workforce that is technically skilled, adaptable, and able to respond to the evolving scientific, manufacturing, clinical, and societal demands of the regenerative medicine field.
