Michael D. Goldberg

During a career spanning 30 years, Michael Goldberg has been a company founder, CEO, board member and venture capitalist.  Presently, he serves as Executive Chairman of three venture-backed companies – Nodality, Inc., DNAnexus, and XDx.  Michael joined the life science industry in 1981 and participated in the commercialization of the first generation of recombinant DNA, monoclonal antibody and PCR technology.

Michael has previously served as a member of the board of directors of Genomic Health (Nasdaq: GHDX), and a number of privately held venture backed startups. Michael was also previously founder and CEO of OnCare, Inc. and Axion, Inc., and began his career as an executive with Cetus Corp.  He presently serves as a board member of eHealth (Nasdaq: EHTH).  

In addition to his work as a corporate board member and investor, Michael has served on the Board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine since its inception in 2005. Michael also serves on the advisory councils of the Harvard Center for Genetics and Genomics, the Stanford Neuroscience Institute, the Caltech Division of Biology, and the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology. He is a member of the Personalized Medicine Coalition and an honorary trustee of the National Childhood Cancer Foundation. Michael is a former board member of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. Michael holds a BA from Brandeis University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
