Spotlight on Arthritis: Seminar by Barbara D’Amico

Barbara D’Amico spoke at the “Spotlight on Arthritis,” an educational event presented at the CIRM Governing Board Meeting on January 30, 2009. D’Amico spoke about the impact of rheumatoid arthritis on her daily life.

D’Amico was introduced by her physician, Mark Genovese, M.D. Dr. Genovese is a professor of medicine, specializing in immunology and rheumatology, at the Stanford University Medical Center. After D’Amico’s talk, Phillip Pizzo, M.D., provided additional comments about arthritis and the promise of discovering new therapies through stem cell research. Dr. Pizzo is dean of Stanford University’s School of Medicine and is a member of the Board.

The CIRM-hosted event was presented in Burlingame, California in partnership with Stanford University.
