Carly Larsson – High School Stem Cell Research Intern Summer 2013, Video Project 2

Visit our Through Their Lens page for photos and more videos from students and grantees. Carly Larsson is a Cabrillo High Cchool student who is doing a stem cell research internship this summer at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her internship is funded by California’s Stem Cell Agency (CIRM) through the CIRM Creativity Awards grant.

In this video, Carly films her mentor describing experiments they Botryllus schlosseri, a marine animal commonly known as a star tunicate.

This year, we decided to let the students tell their own stories about life in the lab and their hopes for the future. During the course of their internships, we’ve asked them to submit YouTube videos as well as Instagram photos and a blog about their experience.
