Alfonso Barraza – High School Stem Cell Research Intern – Summer 2013

Visit our Through Their Lens page for photos and more videos from students and grantees.

Alfonso Barraza is a Sheldon High School student who is doing a stem cell research internship this summer in the laboratory of Gerhard Bauer at UC Davis. His internship is funded by California’s Stem Cell Agency (CIRM) through the CIRM Creativity Awards grant.

This year, we decided to let the students tell their own stories about life in the lab and their hopes for the future. During the course of their internships, we’ve asked them to submit YouTube videos as well as Instagram photos and a blog about their experience. In this video, Alfonso is putting the plate of my ELISA for BDNF in the plate reader.
