Gavin Newsom appoints Stephen Juelsgaard to governing board

Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed Stephen Juelsgaard to the governing boad of the California Insitute for Regenerative Medicine, the state stem cell agency. Juelsgaard, a former executive vice president, secretary and chief compliance officer of Genentech, Inc, fills the vacancy left by former board member Ed Penhoet.

In a press release Newsom said, “Stephen’s 24 years of experience in the field of biotechnology make him uniquely qualified to fill this vacancy.  His knowledge and experience will be invaluable in helping to advance California’s world-class reputation in regenerative medicine.”
