RFA 08-01: CIRM New Faculty Awards II
The CIRM New Faculty Awards II will fund promising M.D. and Ph.D. scientists in the critical early stages of their careers as independent investigators establishing their own laboratories and research programs. CIRM intends to provide salary and research support for up to five years, creating a stable environment for these new faculty members to build innovative and robust stem cell research programs in the state of California.
CIRM New Faculty Awards II RFA is a new request for applications, with requirements and conditions distinct from those of the CIRM New Faculty Awards I program (RFA 07-02). Applicants who submitted an application in response to the CIRM New Faculty Awards I RFA must submit a new application and should refrain from referring to their prior application, the scientific review of the application, or the score the application received. Any reference to review of applications submitted in response to RFA 07-02 may be grounds for disqualification.

Forms and Instructions:
Applications will only be accepted from Principal Investigators (PIs) who: 1) have been officially nominated on a Candidate Nomination Form (CNF) by their home institution; and 2) have submitted a Letter of Intent (LOI) that was accepted by CIRM. The signed original CNF (in hard copy) and electronic Letter of Intent (as an email attachment) must be received by CIRM no later than 5:00pm (PST) on March 6, 2008. No exceptions will be made.
The application will consist of 4 parts (Parts A-D.) Instructions and templates for the application will be available through a link at this site by February 13, 2008. Applications must be received by CIRM (in both hard copy and in electronic form) no later than 5:00pm (PDT) on April 3, 2008. It is the applicant’s responsibility to meet this deadline, and no exceptions will be made.
You will need a fully functional copy of Adobe Acrobat version 7 or 8 (Standard or Professional) to complete, print, and save the CNF, LOI, and Part A of the Application. We recommend using Adobe Acrobat version 8.1 (or the latest version). Using Adobe Acrobat Reader will not permit you to save information that is entered in the form.
