Robert A. Quint, M.D., FSCAI, has served California as a notable physician specializing in cardiology since 1971. In addition to having a private practice, Dr. Quint also holds a staff appointment at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. Over his 25-year tenure at O’Connor Hospital, he has been Director of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Services and a member of the Cardiovascular Quality Assurance Committee. He is a charter member and founding fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the SCAI’s Credentials Committee.

In his involvement with the American Heart Association (AHA), he serves on the AHA’s Scientific Council and AHA’s Council on Atherosclerosis. His other professional memberships include the Medical Advisory Board of the Scimed Lifesystems, Inc., the United States Congressional Advisory Board, and the American Professional Practice Association.

Dr. Quint began his history of public service in the military, working as a cardiologist and internist at the Valley Forge Hospital in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. As a member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps, he was an internist and cardiologist at the 8th Field Hospital in Nha Trang, Vietnam. In contributing to academic medical knowledge, Dr. Quint has written several articles for such publications as the American Journal of Cardiology and the Journal of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery. For fourteen years, he was a clinical instructor on the voluntary clinical faculty at the Stanford University School of Medicine. His medical work has taken him as far as Iran, Sri Lanka, and Japan to present and lecture.

Dr. Quint obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Ohio State University School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and his residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch, John Sealy Hospital. He also completed two fellowships, in internal medicine and invasive cardiology, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
